Dili, 20 mar 2021 (Lusa) – The number of active covid-19 cases in Timor-Leste grew to 154 today with health authorities detecting 19 more cases in the last 24 hours in Dili, new maxims, said an official spokesperson.
Rui Araújo, coordinator of the team for the prevention and mitigation of covid-19 of the Situation Room of the Integrated Center for Crisis Management (IGC), explained that in the last 24 hours three patients have recovered from the disease.
In Dili there are now 34 outbreaks of the disease, with the latest cases including 16 with mild symptoms and three asymptomatic, with 136 cases detected in Dili in the last 13 days.
Three new cases have been recorded in the Holy Land Village (Madohi), one case in the Maucocomate Village (Becora), two cases in Berbidu Village (Becora), one in the village Bidau Tokobaru (Culuhun), 10 cases in Village 20 September th (Bebonuk) and one case each in the Cricket Village (Gricenfor) and Gideon Village (Vila Verde).
More than half of the current outbreaks have not recorded any additional case in the last seven days, with teams collecting in the last 24 hours a total of 628 tests.
Outbreaks with the highest number of cases are currently the September 20 Village (Bebonuk) with 14 cases, the area where the first case was originally detected in Dili, the Holy Land area, with 19 cases, and the training unit in Neonatal Care of Guido Valadares National Hospital (HNGV) with 12 cases.
